400 roses for the 30th IBM anniversary in Poland
Last Saturday a new exceptional place was created in Katowice – a rose circle, which was set up by the employees of IBM branch in Katowice to celebrate the 30th company anniversary in Poland.
On a small square at the crossroads of Damrota and Francuska streets in the direct vicinity of IBM headquarters in Katowice appeared Roses of ‘Rally’ species . The central element of the circle is red maple ‘Red Sunset’, whose leaves in autumn take on a unique red color, which will perfectly match the bright red color of roses.
The action of planting roses was organized by IBM employees together with Katowice City Hall and Urban Greenery Department. Katowice is the first of four Polish cities where such action was carried out on the occasion 30 th company anniversary in Poland. In the following weekends, planting trees will be held in Kraków, Warsaw and Wroclaw.
IBM is another company which joined in the Katowice beautification thanks to the new plantings. In spring this year a similar action was organized by the local Fujitsu headquarters, which decorated the slope near the Silesian Museum with plants. Such actions show that not only the city residents care about the greenery, but it is also important for local companies.
