Delegation of Katowice took part in the ABSL European Forum in Berlin
Od 20 do 21 marca przedstawiciele Wydziału Obsługi Inwestorów, Naczelnik Mariusz Jankowski oraz Zastępca Naczelnika Magdalena Kolka wzięli udział w konferencji ABSL European Forum – Business Services – A Uniting Engine for Growth in Europe. Miasto Katowice uczestniczyło w wydarzeniu jako Partner Platynowy.
The goal was to unite the leaders of the business sector who employs 1.5 million people while facing huge global challenges. The ABSL European Forum’s agenda focused on:
– ESG as an engine of business growth.
– New business services (GBS) models as an enhancement of corporate strategies.
– Business services (GBS) as an engine of growth for cities.
– The latest economic and political forecasts for business in Europe.
The event promoted Katowice as a modern centre of the modern business services sector in Poland.
In addition, Mariusz Jankowski gave an introduction to the discussion on global business services (GBS) as an element of urban development.
Are GBS a city’s growth engine? Yes, they are a growth engine, but only when a city and an investor complement and cooperate with each other. If we create a place for investment and they offer jobs that help staff and residents develop, we can create engines for joint development. We can overcome the challenges of the current world only if we work together,” Director of the Investor Assistance Dept Mariusz Jankowski concluded his speech on the impact of GBS on urban development.
Participation in ABSL European Forum 2023 gave us inspiration and showed the way to create an even better ecosystem for the modern service sector in our city.
