Let’s meet at Gamescom!

24-28th August, representatives of the City of Katowice will be able to meet at Gamescom. This is one of the largest events in the world, during which representatives of the gaming industry, both game dev, e-sports and companies that provide services related to game production meet. The fair is hosted by the city of Cologne, which is a partner city of Katowice.

Representatives of the City of Katowice will be able to meet at the stand that the Marshal’s Office of the Silesian Voivodeship has prepared for the fair. In addition to the representatives of Invest in Katowice, 6 companies from the region will also present themselves at the booth, including 3 from Katowice: Anshar Publishing, TakeIT Studio! and PaySkin.

The City of Katowice will primarily present the concept of the Katowice Gaming and Technology Hub. The Hub is an investment that will include the revitalization and adaptation of the former “Wieczorek” coal mine site in Katowice’s Nikiszowiec district. The site will include offices, coworking spaces, studios, laboratories, or will house equipment for computing used by the gaming industry. This year a concept for the development of the site was selected through a competition. The investment will be implemented on the basis of the winning design made by AMC – Andrzej M. Choldzynski Sp. z o.o. s.k. from Lublin. Work on the project is currently underway. The first spaces within KGHT will be put into operation by the end of 2026.
