The latest initiative in the city is aimed at implementing the post-mining project entitled “District of New Technologies in Katowice” – establishment of the Katowice Gaming and Technology Hub. This hub office and technology complex is to serve as an educational place and design center for technological needs. In practice, it will become the seat of high technology companies, in particular the computer games and e-sport industries. For the needs of the project, an area of ​​20 hectares around the Pułaski Shaft belonging to the extinguished mine “Wieczorek” will be developed. The investment will be the next stage of revitalization of the Nikiszowiec district.
