Foreigners Integration Centre now open in Katowice

Katowice has launched a new support centre for its foreign residents. The Foreigners Integration Centre offers Polish language courses, legal advice, and assistance with administrative matters.

The Foreigners Integration Centre (CIC) has recently started operating in Katowice, and it is already proving to be a highly needed initiative. During the official opening conference, a wide range of support services for foreigners living in our city was presented.

The CIC is a one-stop-shop providing comprehensive assistance in various aspects of life. Its offer includes educational activities introducing Polish culture, values, and everyday realities, as well as psychological and legal counselling.

The scope of services includes:

1. Information and advisory consultations on administrative matters, family issues, residence registration, and education.

2. Polish language courses for children and adults at A1 and A2 levels.

3. Psychological care for children.

4. Information on residence legalisation procedures.

5. Legal support provided by lawyers or legal advisors on employment and labour rights.

6. Adaptation and orientation courses – 12 modules with practical guidelines for living in Poland.

The centre was established thanks to the cooperation between the Regional Labour Office in Katowice, the Silesian Voivode, Caritas, and the Institute for Social Development. The project is co-financed by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF).

The Katowice Foreigners Integration Centre is located in the Faculty of Theology building on Jordana Street. Similar centres also operate in Bielsko-Biała and Częstochowa.
